The Deep has teamed up with Hull Comedy Festival to play host to the Ugly Animal Preservation Society’s Comedy Roadshow on the 3rd and 4th November (7pm - 10pm).

The Professor of comedy, and the society’s President for Life, Simon Watt (Inside Natures Giants and The Infinite Monkey Cage) describes the event as “a night of comedy with a conservation twist!” bringing an evening dedicated to raising the profile of some of mother nature’s more aesthetically challenged creatures.

Run over two nights, the evening will see 6 acts go head to head, each championing their chosen endangered ‘ugly animal’. Prepare yourself for a unique blend of comic genius with a mix of styles and nuances of naughtiness, this is one stand up that’s sure to deliver and delight.

Simon has travelled across Britain and Europe with his roadshow, bringing with him a new set of acts and new material along the way. Each show is truly one of kind, with each act delivering its own spin on the ways of the natural world, we are sure to be in for a few surprises along the way. His act is described by BBC Focus Magazine as making guests “cry with laughter”.

Including some of Hulls finest comedians we are excited to present Gary Jennison, Jed Salisbury, Marshal B Anderson, Patrick Draper, Amy Gledhill, Andy ‘the Gold Man’ Train and Welsh comedian Phil Cooper.

Set inside The Deep, the venue will be truly memorable, surrounded by amazing animals, it is the perfect spot to delve into the underbelly of nature’s most monstrous, yet oddly beautiful, creations. Let’s face it, we can’t all be pandas!

Tickets cost just £12. Strictly over 18s only. Book yours at Places are limited. A fully licensed bar will be open from 7pm.

Simon will also be around at the end of the show to sign his brand new book ‘Ugly Animals: we can’t all be pandas’.  For more information visit the website here
