1. Treat her to a spa afternoon in Harrogate

Surround her in luxury at the historical Turkish Baths in Harrogate.  Show her you care with a special massage, pedicure or facial.

2. Enjoy fun on the Farm!

Give those fabulous Mums and Grandmas a treat on their special day at Thornton Hall Farm Park. Lots of farm fun to be had - including animal feeding, animal petting, egg collecting & much more!

3. Interest her in a crafty day out

Visit the drop-in craft sessions at Sewerby Hall, Bridlington this Mother’s Day and create a gift that mum will never forget. The kids will also get the chance to make mum a personalised card.

4. Explore historical York

There’s something for every Mum in York; from delightful boutiques, historical sites such as York Minster, to the wealth of delightful cafes for afternoon tea.  There’s no better place to take chocolate-loving mums this Mother’s Day, with Afternoon Tea and more to enjoy at Yorks Chocolate Story.  Spend a day in York together, reconnect and get lost in it’s curious streets. Finish off the day with the best fish & chips that Yorkshire has to offer at Miller’s Fish and Chips in Haxby.

5. Enjoy a trip on a train!

Residents Toby and Mavis have a famous visitor this Mother’s Day at Kirklees Light Railway in East Yorkshire when Thomas comes to visit. The whole family can enjoy a trip on one of the trains, as well a face painting and donkey rides on offer.

6. Explore Scarborough seaside together

Take her to the seaside and delight in a walk along the seafront, and over to the Sealife Centre for a spot of nature watching or wallow in nostalgia at the Scarborough Fair Collection.

7.  Relax with a visit to RHS Harlow Carr & Bettys Tea Rooms

These stunning, timeless gardens on the edge of Harrogate are home to not only one of the best collections of flowers in the country, but also, it’s very own Betty’s Tearooms - perfect for an afternoon treat!

8.  Alternatively why not visit one of Yorkshire’s many  other great castles, houses and gardens - with over 40 to choose from you will be spoilt for choice!

Situated in or near York the National Trust is custodian to three stunning houses:-

Nunnington Hall near Malton - Spend the day together as a family while you get crafty with pottery painting, before spoiling mum in the tea-room with a Mother's Day treat.

Beningborough Hall, near York - Celebrate Mothering Sunday and make something special for the mum in your world in the popular family art workshop or wander around the beautiful gardens and afterwards enjoy tea in the Walled Garden Restaurant.

Treasurer's House, York  - Treat your Mum to a day out at Treasurer's House, enjoy lunch in the Below Stairs Cafe and then have a go at croquet in the beautiful gardens.

9.  Sunday Lunch

The Galphay Inn near Ripon, has an enviable reputation for home cooked food and what better way to help Mum relax than to give her a break from cooking for the day.

Make the most of Mother’s Day with an afternoon of delicious food at The Earl of Doncaster Hotel. In the Cafe Concerto, they will be serving an indulgent 3 course meal, or for something a little lighter try one of their scrumptious Afternoon Teas - you won't be disappointed!  After you have finished eating why not extend your visit by relaxing in the lounge bar with a glass of Champagne or wine.

10. Take her deer watching at Fountains Abbey

Does she know her stags from her hinds? Take a trip for the day over to Fountains Abbey and stalk the deer, enjoy the peaceful greenery of the estate and indulge in some tea and treats at one of the estate’s cafes.
