GREAT CONCERTS THIS YEAR IN YORKSHIRE

There are lots of great concerts and music festivals in Yorkshire to visit this summer.  Here are just a few of the best!

Local Yorkshire band, the Exploding Buddhas are supported by Brogan Main  at Masham Town Hall Saturday 9th April 2016.


The evening kicks off at 7:00pm  with the music starting with Brogan Main at 7:30pm . This young lady is a fantastic singer with a great following so be sure to check her out.  At approximately 8.45pm, the Buddhas take to the stage. A well known local band around North Yorkshire they only get together a handful of times through the year.

Milburn are a Sheffield-based indie band formed in 2001 who split in 2008, reforming at the start of this year.  The band released their debut album, "Well Well Well" in 2006, followed by 2007's "These Are the Facts".


Bamfest is a three-day family-friendly acoustic music festival taking place in the North Yorkshire market town of Bedale from May 31st – 2nd June. Their aim is to bring acoustic music - in as many genres as possible - to as many people as possible.
North Yorkshire's premier acoustic music festival is going to be bigger and even better than last year's phenomenal success.

Billy Bragg is appearing at Holmfirth Picturedrome on Wednesday 1st Jun 2016
This influential singer-songwriter and activist, is christened as "The Bard From Barking".
From the mid-80s onwards, he had a clutch of crossover hits including the single "Sexuality" in 1991.
He now records using occasional backing-band - The Blokes.

Beverley Knight is appearing at the  Barbican Centre, York on Friday 3rd Jun 2016
Since her 1995 debut, Beverley has received MOBO, E.M.M.A and Black Music Awards as well as Mercury, Brit, and Capital FM award nominations and an Urban Music 'Lifetime Achievement' award.

The Cravats are appearing at Brudenell Social, Leeds on Friday 1st Jul 2016.
Their debut album "Cravats In Toytown" was released in 1980 on Small Wonder.  Key songs included "Precinct", "Rub Me Out" (on Crass) and "In The Land Of The Giants".

Paul Heaton , formerly of the Beautiful South and the Housemartins is appearing at the Open Air Theatre on Friday 5th Aug 2016, Scarborough.
Solo albums include his 2001 debut, "Fat Chance" (as "Biscuit Boy"), "The Cross Eyed Rambler" (2008), "Acid Country" (2010) and 2012's "Paul Heaton Presents The 8th". In 2014, Paul and Jacqui Abbott recorded the album, "What Have We Become?", which hit number 3 in the UK albums chart.

US punk group,The Dickies are appearing at Brudenell Social , Leeds on Thursday 11th Aug 2016.
One of the earliest punk bands to emerge from the California, The Dickies specialized in fast renditions of classic rock and pop songs including "Nights in White Satin", "Eve of Destruction", "Paranoid" and their hit "Banana Splits", as well as "Fanmail" and "Manny, Moe And Jack". Albums include "The Incredible Shrinking Dickies" and "Dawn of the Dickies".

Leeds Festival in Bramham Park this year from 26th – 28th Augusthas developed something of a habit of attracting some of the biggest global superstars, and world beating bands on the planet to their Yorkshire home. 2016 is set to be no different.
At Leeds Festival 2016 music fans will also have a chance to see a whole host of new acts and local bands in the smaller tents as well as the more established ones on the main stage. There are also great comedy acts in the alternative tent for when you require a welcome rest
 
Bingley Music Live is an Annual weekend music festival staged in Bradford from the  2nd – 4th September.
The 2016 line-up is to be announced. 2015 featured Labrinth, James, Super Furry Animals, Idlewild, Cast, Embrace, Ash, Ella Eyre, Peter Hook & The Light, Carl Barat & The Jackals, Funeral for a Friend, Rae Morris, Deaf School, Scott Matthews, The Beat, Hurricane #1, Nothing But Thieves, Fickle Friends, Holy Esque, Kimberly Anne, VANT, Runaway GO, Pixel Fix, Kiko Bun, Meadowlark, Natasha North and more!
