Halloween is rapidly approaching and there are a range of horrible happenings throughout the county. Here is a scary schedule of the best ones – be there if you dare!!
1 White Scar Cave - Throughout October part of the cave will be Halloween themed. Enjoy some seasonal atmosphere as part of the standard cave tour. No need to book, and Halloween costumes are welcome!
2 Thornton Hall Country Park - Spooky activities at the farm this Halloween - come along if you dare! Scary mazes, pumpkin carving, freaky face painting & special guests!
3 Frightwater Valley - Join them for their annual Halloween spooktacular as all manner of ghastly ghosts and gruesome ghouls lurk within the shadows of the theme park. During the day friendly frights are suitable for the whole family but BE WARNED as dusk falls you will need to tread very scarefully as....the darker the night the scarier the fright!
4 Bolton Castle - Come and enjoy a spooky evening at Bolton Castle on Friday 27th October......it you dare!!
The evening will comprise of Ghost Walks and scary tales around a roaring fire and includes a two-course themed dinner. Start is at 7pm until 10pm.
5 There’s something strange going on this Halloween at Barley Hall and we need intrepid visitors to help us solve some ghostly mysteries!
Sightings of former residents who lived and worked at the Hall over 500 years ago have been seen skulking round the rooms and passageways, causing all sorts of mischief and mayhem. It’s as if the past is coming back to life!
A perfect Halloween event for the kids, expect thrills and chills but no nightmares! Suitable for 5 to 12 year olds.
Brodsworth Hall - As well as exploring the incredible house, full of stories and reminders of the past, children can head out on a spooky trail around the grounds hunting for ghosts and ghouls. Additionally, there will be a multitude of creepy crafts- make a mask, a haunting honeycomb decoration or have a go at dotty art.
Whitby Abbey - Absorb yourself in the amazing history of the site, exploring the ruins that inspired Dracula. Hear a spooky tale or two and head out on a Halloween challenge trail. Follow clues and keep your eyes peeled for creepy cut outs around the site. Then find out the gruesome truth about life expectancy in Victorian England from our undertaker.
