One very happy marketing manager on board the Flying Scotsman!

Congratulations to Laura Strangeway for doing such a great job promoting the Flying Scotsman at the Yorkshire Moors Railway.

The event drew huge crowds who came to watch this iconic train steam through the stunning scenery of the North York Moors National Park and was a great start to the season.  The railway's next event is the Scottish Branch Line Gala that runs on May 6th, 7th 8th, 13th 14th & 15th May.

The Flying Scotsman also visited the Settle-Carlise line and photographers turned out in force as the magnificent engine steamed across the Ribblehead Viaduct situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park on its way to the pretty market town of Appleby.

For those who want a more gentle ride through the Yorkshire Dales why not take a ride on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, a new event for 2016 are their 'Evening Eats' where you can enjoy fish and chips, a strawberry special or an authentic English cream tea whilst travelling through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

For a great day out in Yorkshire for the whole family why not visit the Kirklees Light Railway which is a narrow gauge railway that truly offers a Yorkshire welcome; they have Thomas The Tank Engine weekends running on the 14th & 15th May.
