The Top Seven Farm Parks to visit in Yorkshire

The two main industries in Yorkshire are tourism and farming. So it is not surprising therefore that there are numerous farm parks to visit in Yorkshire this summer. Fun for all ages they offer hours of entertainment. Here are just a selection of our favourites and there is sure to be one near you.

The Yorkshire Dales

A small local farm that is near to us is in Bedale is the Big Sheep and Little Cow, Aiskew Watermill The Bridge, Bedale DL8 1AW which is a great place for tiny tots. They give an interesting tour of the farm which lasts about an hour and there are plenty of small animals to hold and pet from a hedgehog, ferret and even a rat!

Over the other side of the Dales is Thornton Hall Farm, Thornton-In-Craven, Near Skipton, Skipton BD23 3TJ. They offer lots of activities including tractor rides on Tractor Ted, pony rides and plenty of animals to pet. Providing family friendly fun which will keep you entertained for hours.

Near the Bolton Abbey Estate is Hesketh Farm Park, Bolton Abbey, Skipton BD23 6HA. A popular venue with families, you can happily spend a few hours here incorporating it with a picnic and walk by the River Wharfe on the nearby beautiful Bolton Abbey Estate. There is a large indoor area where you can watch baby animals and pet them as well as a good outdoor play area.

The North York Moors and the East Coast

At Scarborough are two more excellent Farm Parks, Filey Bird Garden & Animal Park, and Playdale Farm Park.

Playdale Farm Park, Killerby Grange, Station Road, Cayton, Scarborough YO11 3TL, is an award winning visitor attraction situated near Scarborough on the outskirts of the village of Cayton. Monk Park Farm Bagby, Thirsk YO7 2AG is in the heart of Herriott Country, a beautiful location, the farm is situated with a stunning backdrop of the Cleveland hills. There are outdoor and indoor Feeding Areas where you can see such as lambs, sheep, goats, calves, cattle, pigs, ponies, donkeys, horses, llamas, alpacas, wallabies, albino wallabies, deer, ducks, geese, hens, peacocks, rabbits and guinea pigs.

Piglet Adventure Farm, The Farmer's Cart, Towthorpe Grange, Towthorpe Moor Lane, York YO32 9ST is a farm park with a difference. It will keep children entertained of all ages because as well as the usual animals to see there is pig racing, wet foam fun, a bouncy castle and even a circus!
