Visitors to a North Yorkshire town are being given a helping hand in planning their trip, and finding their way round during their stay in Richmond.
The Welcome to Richmond app is available for Apple and Android devices and gives users valuable information about the town’s attractions and places of interest.
The free app includes a map, and features images of each of the main visitor venues with key information about them, as well as a range of interesting features visitors will find in the town during their stay.
“We’re really pleased to be able to provide our visitors with an app for use on their mobile devices,” says James Gravenor, Chair of the Welcome to Richmond group. “We recently re-designed and re-issued the town’s map leaflet, which has proved very popular with visitors throughout the season. The addition of the app, which is clear, clean and uncluttered really helps potential visitors see what’s available, whilst also guiding those who are already here around - helping everyone get the most out of their visit.
It’s been created by ATS Heritage, one of the leading producers of multimedia guides for the museums and heritage sector, who have provided apps for attractions such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Chatsworth House.
“We were delighted to have the opportunity to develop this app for the Welcome to Richmond Group, explains Louise Wainwright from ATS Heritage. “Richmond is such a fascinating town with so much to discover and we hope that visitors will now be able to more easily find out about all of the town’s treasures using the app – and that they’ll come back again and again.”
The app can be downloaded from the Google Play store and itunes.
