There is such a lot to see and do in June in lovely Yorkshire!  Let’s hope the gorgeous weather continues so that we have the chance to enjoy the fun!
For the younger ones there is lots to do.  Lightwater Valley Theme Park invites you to Superheroes Live! On the 3rd and 4th. Grab your fancy dress costume and come along for a Zap, Zoom and Kapow-packed weekend of fantastic fun and amazing entertainment. Watch your favourite superheroes on stage as they bust out some serious dance moves and help you practice your mighty crime-fighting techniques in our skills showcase.Just £15 gate entry for those who come dressed in FULL Superhero fancy dress
Thornton Hall Farm Park are inviting you to “Be our Guest" on Sunday 30th July. Join Princess Beauty and her friends for Live Performances, Workshops, Meet & Greets & much more. Lots of indoor and outdoor farm fun too (animal feeding, egg collecting, animal petting & more!). Tickets are required for this event so please contact them directly
Budding dancers might be interested to know that Fancy Dance Shop in Micklegate have a fantastic half term offer this week - 50% off gymnastic and fashion leotards – it’s a perfect excuse to tone up your bods for the summer holidays.
There is plenty out there for our history buffs too.  Skipton Castle is inviting you not only to visit them from the 24th -25th June to Journey back to the 17th Century and see a glimpse of Skipton Castle's Household life but also invite you to try your hand at stone carving on the 10th and 11th- an event organised by the Stone Carving Association.  Why not go and have a go!
The Stephen Joseph Theatre are featuring One of the UK’s best-loved plays. Jim Cartwright’s The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, has gone into rehearsals at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre. The show will open the theatre’s summer season in June.
The National Railway Museum have “Mystery on the Rails” all this month. Join them for their brand new season to uncover the special place railways have in mystery and detective fiction, solve the mystery of The Missing Passenger and discover a wealth of real-life tales of audacious robberies, petty thefts and notorious criminals – great fun for the potential Sherlocks amongst you!
Final preparations are now underway for the evening Party in the Park concert at Flamingo Land this Saturday 3rd June, sSo, don’t rush home after an amazing day exploring the Theme Park & Zoo. Get in a party mood instead and stay for an evening packed with spectacular live entertainment.
Admission to Party In The Park is free for visitors attending during the day, Annual Pass holders and Holiday Village guests. For anyone who would just like to enjoy one hour of theme park and zoo followed by an evening of live entertainment, tickets are now available online on flamingoland.co.uk, allowing entry from 5pm for only £10.
With its spectacular illuminated waterfall, the Riverside One entertainment arena features a range of bars and restaurants, allowing you to enjoy a host of delicious meals, drinks and snacks
Talking of which, Campbells of Leyburn invite you to a night of wine and chocolate on Friday 9th June from 6.30 to 8.30pm. It is national gin day on the 10th so you might be rolling home after the weekend
Marta Aires Mateus-Bowrers from Marta Vine and Bill Winship of Lindt chocolate will take you through an evening of indulgence with excellent wine and splendid chocolate.
If you prefer the countryside to a hectic nightlife, The action packed 7th Overground Underground Festival begins on 1 May at Ingleton and runs until 1st September.  Join in for a summer of unique and exciting activities and events.  There is something for everyone; from local history walks to caving trips; from art and craft courses to natural history and conservation activities; from films to fun activities for kids and much, much more!
