Brave children can test their nerve on our Trick or Treat tour of York. Ghoulish Count Fectionery will weave terrifying tales, hand out spooky samples and cause plenty of mischief on the city’s ancient streets. Along the way, the history of some ghastly giants of confectionery will be revealed, such as “Kit Bat”, “Terry’s All Ghould” and “Rowntree’s Fright Pastilles”. Children and big kids alike are encouraged to come along in their best Halloween fancy dress. There will be a competition for the best costume running throughout the week, with the winner receiving a super-secret prize!
The tour starts at St Andrewgate, just across from York’s SHOCKolate Story and runs from 21st Oct-5th Nov, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Children are £5.99 and adults are £4.99. Tickets can be booked online (www.yorkschocolatestory.com) or at the attraction.
There is going to be plenty to do inside the attraction as well, which will be completely decked out for Halloween. Guests will discover the secrets behind confectionery’s sometimes poisonous past, and how some beloved brands were connected to bloodcurdling events from years ago.
Lolly making will have a sinister twist, as guests craft their creations using our spooky chocolate, complete with some revolting toppings. Anybody feeling lucky can have a go on The Wheel of Misfortune. Where will it land? Will it be a delicious treat, or a disgusting trick chocolate?
Downstairs in the shop, there will be plenty of Halloween and Autumn inspired confectionary for our guests to enjoy, freshly made by our resident mad scientists (aka Chocolatiers).
