New Learn How to Be a Beekeeper Courses - Carlton Towers

Budding beekeepers can learn about what it entails to keep bees and why they are so important to the environment, in a new series of half day introductory courses launched by Carlton Towers.
Taking place on a series of dates starting in April until September, participants can don bee suits and get up close to the hives, learning about how they can help to save bees and understand more about the structure of the hives and the role of beekeepers.
Led by Carter, Carlton Tower’s experienced apiarist, the courses are held on the beautiful parkland estate. Participants that are not planning to keep bees but want to learn more about them and other pollinators and why they are so important to the environment will also find the course is a great place to start.
In an introductory talk over light refreshments, Carter will explain what’s involved with beekeeping and why bees are kept on the estate. This is followed by a visit to the estate’s beehives for a hands-on interactive demonstration. Bee suits and equipment are provided for all participants on the day!
A delicious cheese & charcuterie sharing platter with refreshments, concludes the experience day in the Old Servants Quarter Cooks Kitchen.
