Santa Express running selected dates in November/December
The Santa Express features a trip aboard our heated carriages hauled by one of our steam locomotives*; transporting you to the North Pole!
Enjoy Christmas Magic Show with Spike Bonzo at Clayton West Station either before or after your train ride to the North Pole. Whilst at the North Pole, you will have a one-on-one meeting with the big guy himself inside his cosy grotto, filled with sacks of presents for the good girls & boys. Santa's cheeky elf will be causing Christmas mischief at the Shelley North Pole - will you spot them?!

Join us Opening Night as Santa Brings Christmas to Whistlestop Valley to start the Festive Season!
Story time with Santa 2025 - Thursday 4th December and Thursday 11th December 2025
Bring your little ones on selective Thursdays throughout December and enjoy a Magical Story with Santa!
You'll visit Santa for an enchanting Yuletide tale. After story time is over, the little ones, will be given a golden coin to spend in Santa's Toy Shop, selecting a gift of their own to take home and cherish.
Festive Fridays 2025 - Friday 5th December and Friday 12th December 2025
Festive Fridays features a trip aboard our heated carriages hauled by one of our steam locomotives*; transporting you to the North Pole!
Whilst at the North Pole, you will have a one-on-one meeting with the big guy himself inside his cosy grotto, filled with sacks of presents for the good girls & boys. Santa's cheeky elf will be causing Christmas mischief at the Shelley North Pole - will you spot them?!
There'll be a complimentary edible festive treat and drink for everyone plus the opportunity to make up a bag of magical reindeer food to take home with you and write out your Christmas wish to hang on the magical Wishing Tree. You'll also be able to have a Yuletide whizz around the duck pond on our ride-on miniature train at the front of Clayton West Station.
SEND Santa
Due to the popularity of our SEND Santa 2024 experience, we are pleased to announce we will be offering this service again during 2025.
These visits are a specially tailored experience designed for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Families will be able to enjoy all of the magic of Christmas together at Whistlestop Valley with a few tweaks here and there to make our event more accessible The SEND Santa train will have calm carriages, reduced capacity numbers, quieter music volume and no flashing lights on the daylight trains. The evening SEND departures will have flashing lights.
