Looking for fun and exciting things to do in Yorkshire? Dalby Forest, managed by the Forestry Commission, offers a wide variety of activities in the North Yorkshire Moors. With over 8,000 acres of woodland to explore, enjoy and discover, including play areas for children, BBQ & picnic areas for the family, adrenalin activities for the thrill seekers and plenty of way-marked walking and cycling trails for all abilities.

In the Visitor Centre, you can find out more about Dalby Forest or enjoy a wide range of locally sourced snacks and meals for all the family at the Forest Cafe.

Within Dalby Courtyard, you will find craft and business workshops, a café and Dalby Bike Barn cycle centre.

Why not call in at Pulpitations Studio and make a piece of recycled paper. Visitors wanting to burn off some energy can use the 55 miles of cycle trails to explore the forest. There is a range of cycle trails from family routes to highly technical and demanding routes. Dalby Bike Barn offers high-quality bikes to suit all ages and abilities.

If you like your excitement off the ground in Yorkshire, try Go Ape’s high wire adventure course or Tree Top Junior, with high ropes and zip wires amongst the trees.

Or why not explore the forest terrain on Segways for a totally different experience. For a gentle and relaxing stroll within this beautiful Yorkshire forest, choose one of our way-marked trails of various lengths.

A number of the trails are all ability and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The newly developed Ellerburn Trail follows the Dalby Beck south down the valley from Low Dalby. There are plenty of picnic tables that can also accommodate wheelchairs.

For those who like to relax, there’s always a quiet corner to watch the wildlife and take in the fresh air and scenery.

Dalby Activity Centre offers visitors the chance to raise their adrenalin levels by undertaking paintballing, archery and other activities from team building days, corporate groups, birthday parties and stag & hen groups.

The forest offers a diverse range of special events throughout the year including music concerts, motorsports events, guided walks, craft sessions, seasonal events, cycling and running events, and children’s holiday activities, plus wildlife and nature events.
