Stretching from Spurn Point to Saltburn-by-the-Sea, this unique stretch of coastline boasts a string of gorgeous and very different seaside towns and villages, from traditional resorts such as Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough and Whitby, to picture-perfect fishing communities like Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes. Many of which are in the stunning North York Moors National Park.
It’s a coastline of many contrasts, whether you’re a family looking for a welcoming beach, a food lover in search of the best and the freshest, or the outdoor type in search of walks and wildlife, the Yorkshire Coast offers the perfect holiday.

Join the racing elite for the Tour de Yorkshire 2018 – kicking off on the 3 May. 2018 sees the Tour extended to four days, with the Stage Three finish at Scarborough’s striking North Bay.

Say ‘Thank you’ to our British Armed Forces at the ever popular Armed Forces Day on 30 June – with vintage stalls, marching bands, air displays and music; it’s a memorable day where we show support for our brave men and women, past, present and future.

The 20th annual Scarborough Maritime Festival takes place on 20 to 22 July. Seafest welcomes budding pirates and land lubbers alike, with live music from dawn to dusk, foods from around the world, demonstrations in the cooking theatre by top local chefs and over 30 craft and food stalls.

On 28 & 29 July Filey hosts the Festival of Filey – Return of the Dragon. With live bands, musicals, motorcycle stunts and riding shows; go along and enjoy a weekend of free entertainment and family fun.

Whitby Regatta sails in on 11 to 13 August, the regatta is a full weekend of entertainment – embracing yacht and rowing races plus much more; finishing with a spectacular firework display. For those who prefer their entertainment on dry land of the musical variety then stay on for the Whitby Folk week kicking off in and around the local bars 18 to 24 August.

On 8 September, as the darker nights roll in, we welcome the Goldwing Light Parade to Scarborough’s South Bay; this popular event is one of the UK’s most glitzy Goldwing charity events!
