    Animals & Nature

Filey Bird & Animal Park - Meet and feed a variety of friendly animals in their spacious paddocks - from giant rabbits to woolly alpaca’s spotty pigs and miniature ponies. Watch the ducks and geese splashing in the ponds or 'talk' to the turkeys and hear them gobble back to you!  Visit the Worm-world and Mini-beast Mansion, get in touch with your senses and dare to put your hands in the feely boxes. Learn some amazing wildlife facts at the pond, wild-flower meadow and other habitats or take part in our treasure hunt. See how quickly you can complete the adventure trail and how far you can see from the top of the fort. When you want to relax you can wander around the formal gardens and sit in the shady arbours or gazebo where you can watch the colourful birds. See the fish in the garden ponds or go through the door into the Secret Garden and get great views of the wildlife pond and its inhabitants.

    Filey Dams Nature Reserve
    - The last remaining freshwater marsh of any size in the region. It covers about 6 hectares, has interesting botanical specimens and is home to a number of mammal, insect and amphibian species.
Permits not required but, to minimise disturbance visitors are restricted to the hides near car park and at the east pool (Image courtesy of Filey Brigg Ornithological Group).

There is a huge indoor play area with a ball pool and tractor zone adventure trail, a toddler area, and a gift shop and café. There is a large sandpit with buckets, spades and sit-on diggers, which are also undercover, so will protect you from the sun or the rain.

Kennel Visits and Husky Walks at Pesky Husky Trekking - Situated between Scarborough and Whitby in the North York Moors National Park, Pesky Husky is a unique experience for any visitor. A family-run business with over 30 years of experience of the breed, Pesky Husky was set up in 2007, when our aims were to provide a centre where people could learn about the amazing qualities of the oldest breed on the planet, and how they are simply like no other dog. We also aim to provide a loving home for our dogs throughout their whole lives (having rescued about a third of our pack from unsuitable homes), by giving them the opportunity to do what Huskies are supposed to do- run! With 30 sled dogs for you to meet, we provide a range of exciting experiences, including Husky Trekking; a sport which gives you the opportunity to drive your own team of dogs on a two wheeled scooter around our purpose built trekking course, with its two exciting down-hills. For those who want a more relaxed session we can tailor your session to suit your individual abilities.
