Rhs Garden Harlow Carr Is Dishing Up A Delicious Programme For Brand New ‘plot To Plate’ Festival



The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new, ‘Plot to Plate’ event at RHS Garden Harlow Carr from 6 to 7 September this year. Visitors are invited to sink their teeth into this fantastic foodie event to celebrate all things cooking and growing.
Visitors will be able to enjoy an inspiring day out where gardening meets gastronomy – get expert growing advice, learn from live talks and cookery demonstrations, and enjoy street food and live entertainment. Whether you're a passionate foodie, a green-thumbed gardener, or just curious, it’s the perfect time to discover an abundance of garden produce and explore the delights of the season at RHS Garden Harlow Carr.
There will be guided tours of the Kitchen Garden, and inspiring live cookery demos from talented local chefs, including Minal Patel, Prashad; Adam Degg, Head Chef at Fifty Two, Rudding Park; David Atherton, Winner of The Great British Bake Off 2019; Josh Brimmel, Executive Chef at Star in the City and York Minster Refectory plus many more.
Sam Hamrebtan from The Life Larder, will also be on hand to share her insights into the vital connection between soil health and gut health. Tuck into delicious street food, browse ingredients from local producers and join in with family-friendly cooking sessions. Enjoy lively entertainment from The Barrow Band, plus inspiring talks about gardening and food waste from Martin Fish and the North Yorkshire Rotters and chat with RHS experts for down-to-earth gardening advice.

Live Cooking Demonstrations, daily from 1am - 3pm
Take a seat in the cookery tent and enjoy live demonstrations from talented local chefs who will teach you new skills and prepare tasty recipes which shine the spotlight on the best seasonal ingredients.
Grow your knowledge at the Potting Shed, daily from 11am - 3pm
Visit The Potting Shed stage, hosted by Martin Fish, who will welcome growers and experts to the stage to share their horticultural knowledge and know how.

Hear Nutritional Therapist, Chef, Food Presenter and founder of The Life Larder Sam Hambretan share her insights into soil health and the links with our own gut health, as well as creating tasty, effortless food that is good for our bodies and our planet.
Kids Cook Up, daily 9.30am to 4pm
Families can take part in a fun and informative cookery demonstration, taking fresh seasonal ingredients to make something yummy to take home.
Suitable for children aged 4+
Edible Garden Tours, daily at 11am and 1pm
Join our team on a 30-minute tour of the fruit and vegetable garden so you can take home hints and tips about how to make the most of your growing spaces at home.
Street Food and Market, daily 9.30am to 4pm
Enjoy shopping opportunities from a range of local providers of food, drink and horticultural goodies and try scrumptious treats ranging from gooey cheese toasties, to fresh spicy curries and flavoursome burritos.
Live entertainment, daily
Make sure you catch a performance by The Barrow Band who will be entertaining audiences big and small with their fun songs all about fruit and vegetables.

Get Rotting Advice! Look out for the North Yorkshire Rotters will be on site over the weekend, sharing hints and tips for saving food waste.

Garden admission applies. Children's tickets cost £5.00, and adult entry starts from £15.85 (summer price). RHS Members and under-fives go free. All talks, tours and cookery demos are free with garden admission, available on a first come, first served basis.
