H₂O Heroes at The Deep!

Meet your very own H₂O Heroes this upcoming May half-term at The Deep! Returning for a third year running, the unique popular event is set to be bigger than ever before.

H₂O Heroes sees rescue teams from RNLI, HM Coastguard, local charity Humber Rescue and the Humberside Police Marine Protect Unit join forces to deliver an action-packed, family-friendly week of fun at The Deep!

Katy Duke, Chief Executive Officer at The Deep, said:

“We are delighted to welcome back our partners this May half-term, and we are grateful for additional support this year from the Humberside Police Marine Protect Unit. It is encouraging to see how our H₂O Heroes event grows year on year, with 2025 lining up to be the biggest yet!”

Running from the 24th May to the 1^st June, the event explores the theme of staying safe in and around bodies of water. Bringing together a partnership of teams, families will have the exciting opportunity to speak to and hear from those who take part in real, live rescues!

Make the most of photo opportunities with rescue demonstration vehicles and boats outside The Deep, alongside dressing up in kit with a range of props!

Families can also enjoy fact-filled presentations at 12pm & 2pm from The Deep’s Crew, supported by additional presentations at 1pm & 3pm from HM Coastguard. These will uncover important insights into how you can stay safe at the coast, including how to ‘float like a starfish’ on the water surface!

Ahead of the summer holidays, it’s important that we encourage as many people as possible to stay safe at the coast whilst having fun. The team are looking forward to engaging with families during the half-term event as part of our mission to raise awareness of water safety. It's a fantastic opportunity to show how all our emergency services work together to keep our communities safe around water.”
