The Garden Rooms at Tennants is delighted to announce that broadcaster and writer Julia Bradbury will be appearing in Leyburn, North Yorkshire on Thursday 16th October, to entertain and enlighten the audience, talking about her fascinating career to date.

Julia is a much-loved television presenter, author, nature advocate, charity campaigner and cancer thriver. She is best known for turning her lifelong passion for walking into prime-time TV, with shows including Britain’s Best Walks, Cornwall and Devon Walks with Julia Bradbury and Wainwright’s Walks in the Lake District. She started her career as a showbusiness reporter for breakfast television in Los Angeles, coming home to help launch Channel 5 in the UK.

A vital member of the presenting team that made Countryfile into one of the most-watched factual programmes on BBC1, with millions tuning in on Sunday nights, Julia has fronted other flagship shows, including Top Gear and Watchdog. In recent years, she has also taken on a creative role, co-developing new series, as well as appearing on screen.

Julia is also the Sunday time bestselling author of “Walk Yourself Happy” and her new book “Hack Yourself Healthy” is being published in September 2025. Copies of both books will be available to pre-order for Julia to sign on the evening.

Julia will talk about her life and career to date, from interviewing film stars including John Travolta, Tom Hanks and Arnold Schwarzenegger, to travelling “Around the World in 80 Days” with Matt Baker, becoming a “real” rock climber and founding The Outdoor Guide Foundation, promoting outdoor activities and nature preservation; we look forward to another interesting and entertaining evening!

There will be a Q&A session and book signing after the show. The Garden Rooms’ Bistro and Café will be open for dinner prior to the event. Tickets, which start at £16, can be purchased from www.tennantsgardenrooms.com.
