Every year on Museum Shop Sunday over 2,200 arts, heritage and cultural attractions worldwide come together to showcase their fantastic shops and unique products with special events and promotions in store and online.

Museum Shop Sunday is all about shopping with purpose and reminding visitors that it’s not just buying a gift, but actively contributing to the work of the museum and maintaining collections for future generations to enjoy.

This Museum Shop Sunday you can visit Pickering Station Shop, which will be transformed into a Christmas Emporium to stock up on mementos for yourself or gifts for the rail enthusiast in your life. Browse the collections that include books by local authors, homeware, apparel, and gift cards.

The gift shop also features an exclusive homeware range, designed by Whitby-based artist Jess Hogarth inspired by the nostalgic charm of NYMR. Her beautifully illustrated collection features iconic steam engines, scenic stations, and rolling countryside.

Other unique finds include pewter jewellery, keyrings, and key fobs, and a range of baubles, jigsaws, cards, and badges dedicated to the local legend No. 75029 The Green Knight, with money from the purchases supporting the restoration of the locomotive.
