Tinsel Tipple at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Our NEW Tinsel Tipple is a festive train experience on 28 November, 12, 22 and 23 December 2026 departing at either 5.00pm or 6.30pm. Step aboard for a seasonal evening journey complete with included Baileys (50ml) and a Mince Pie, all wrapped in the magic of Christmas.

On board, you will be immersed in a lively festive atmosphere featuring live Christmas sing-alongs and roaming elves through the carriages.

Tinsel Tipple is designed for guests aged 14 and over, focusing on seasonal entertainment, refreshments and a vibrant, sociable Christmas atmosphere: a relaxed and grown-up alternative to the traditional family Santa Express as there is no visit from Santa on these services.

The Experience

As you arrive at the station, you'll hear festive Christmas songs, playing on the station. Your carriage will have wonderful festive lighting, supplied by Purple Lighting, and you'll be able to visit out station tea room to purchase any extra drinks or tasty treats for your journey.

On the service, our team of cheeky elves will be wandering the carriages, spreading festive cheer. You'll enjoy an included Baileys (50ml) and a Mince Pie with a Christmas sing-along.

This celebratory service is built for couples, friends, work do's and multi-generational families who fancy something a bit different this Christmas.

With a drink included and an evening service, it can be the start of a proper night out that's a world away from a standard Santa service.

On Board

• Trains run from Pickering to Levisham and back
• Christmas sing-alongs on Platform 2 before boarding
• Once you're rolling, it's Baileys (50ml) and Mince Pies all round (non-alcoholic option available too)
• Elves roam the carriages causing festive mischief
• Music and entertainment keep going the whole journey
• Back to the station, full of Christmas spirit

Fares

Standard Seat (18+) - £35.00 per person

Includes a Baileys and a mince pie.

Standard Seat (14+) - £35.00 per person

Non-alcoholic soft drink and a mince pie.

Standard Seat for a Carer - £17.50

Includes a drink and a mince pie, carer entitlement ID will be requested.

Wheelchair User - £35.00 per person

A dedicated space in our Fuss-Free ramp-access carriage, a drink and a mince pie, with optional carer seating for one or two companions in adjacent fold-down seats (no table provided).

A £1.50 Booking Fee applies per transaction.

Please Note: This is an evening event, guests must be aged 14 or over to travel on this service. If you’re lucky enough to look under 25, please bring ID as we’ll need to check it before serving any alcoholic drinks.
